How Much Does a 3-Day Trip to Cuenca, Ecuador Cost? A Budget for Two

To work out the cost of three days in Cuenca, separate accommodation, meals, local transport and activities. This example covers two adults sharing a room for two nights. Adjust it to your dates rather than confusing the room price with the cost of the whole trip.

Start with your hotel nights

The Hotel Boutique Posada del Ángel FAQ lists an indicative double-room rate from USD 60 per night, including American breakfast and VAT, outside holidays. Request a quote for your dates and room category.

Using that reference, two nights cost 2 × USD 60 = USD 120 per room. Shared between two adults, accommodation is USD 60 per person for both nights. That covers the room and included breakfast; it is not the total cost of a three-day trip.

A sample budget for three days in Cuenca

The meal, transport, activity and reserve amounts below are amounts chosen for this exercise. They are not verified restaurant, taxi or attraction prices, or an average of visitor spending in Cuenca. Replace them with your actual quotes.

This works out to USD 145 per person for the whole visit, sharing a room. The total is not a hotel package, quote or guarantee that it will cover every itinerary. Spending another USD 10 per person each day on meals adds USD 60 to the couple’s total.

What is excluded?

This calculation excludes flights, intercity travel, shopping, insurance, tours, excursions outside the city, airport or bus-terminal transfers, thermal treatments and special purchases. Add a separate quote for Cajas or any booked experience. Check additional charges for pets, early check-in or late check-out if you need them.

The example allows for food across three full days even though breakfast is included during the hotel stay. Adjust meal spending to your arrival and departure hours, and confirm which breakfasts your reservation covers.

Meals, walks and transport: where to adjust your budget

Check menus and final prices before choosing where to eat. Mangiare Bene is inside the hotel; lunch, dinner and drinks are charged separately. Its menu helps you plan a special meal.

A Historic Center location lets you group several visits into walking routes and return for a rest. Keep an allowance for journeys you prefer to make by transport. Before using the tram, check current payment methods and fares: do not automatically budget an occasional ticket at a cardholder rate.

How to look for a better hotel price in Cuenca

Compare the same dates, room category, guest count, breakfast, taxes and cancellation policy. If you find a rate on another platform, send a screenshot on WhatsApp. We will review whether we can improve it for a direct booking, depending on conditions and availability.

You can also ask for the month’s discount for December, January or June. When applicable, we will provide a code for the discount section of our direct booking platform. Confirm the final total before paying. Holiday rates are quoted separately.
